Antibiotics are medicines used to treat a wide variety of infections or diseases caused by bacteria. Antibiotics have saved millions of lives since they were first introduced in the 1940s and 1950s. However, because they have been overused, many antibiotics are no longer effective against the bacteria they once killed.
In recent years, misuses of antibiotics have contributed to a rise in bacterial resistance. Specially in developing countries like Bangladesh, Irrational use of antibiotics has become a common practice, where the prevalence of infectious disease burden is aggravated by uncontrolled access to antibiotics.
Thinking of the current issues of antibiotic misuse, Chittagong University Scientific Society is going to arrange an open seminar on bad impacts of overdose and misuse of antibiotics, that will help to reveal your knowledge and enlighten your level of awareness towards antibiotics!
